A healthy environment is the foundation of a healthy society. With this belief, Sri Pratyaksha Charitable Trust has launched sustained efforts to improve green cover in rural and temple communities— combining ecological stewardship with dharmic responsibility.
Under this initiative, the Trust has planted saplings across regions like Tiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu, engaging students, volunteers, and local citizens in re-greening efforts. These trees not only revive local biodiversity, but also instill a deeper awareness of our sacred duty to protect nature.
A key highlight of this effort is the Nakshatra Vana—a garden of native and exotic plant species, maintained to preserve traditional botanical wisdom and foster a spiritual connection with the natural world
“We were taught that each plant has a story, and caring for it is a prayer in itself,” — A student volunteer from Tiruvallur
By nurturing trees, the Trust is nurturing future generations who grow with the values of harmony, sustainability, and seva toward all living beings.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna declares, “Annad Bhavanti Bhutani — all beings are sustained by food.” Guided by this eternal truth, Sri Pratyaksha Charitable Trust places Annadanam at the heart of its service.
Each year, the Trust provides fresh, sattvic meals to individuals and families in underserved communities—particularly in rural areas and during outreach events. From health camps to Patashalas, old-age homes to temple festivals, every Annadanam effort is carried out with reverence, care, and cultural sensitivity.
On the auspicious occasion of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanthi, the Trust organizes special Annadanam camps across multiple towns and villages—ensuring that no one is forgotten, especially on days marked for spiritual reflection and community celebration.
“This meal felt like a blessing—served with respect, not pity,” — An elderly beneficiary from a rural camp
Through each meal, the Trust reaffirms the sacred duty of caring for others, making compassion tangible, one plate at a time.
Marriage marks a sacred beginning—but for families from economically weaker sections, the cost can be overwhelming.
Sri Pratyaksha Charitable Trust supports these families by offering financial assistance and essential wedding items, including the tirumangalyam, so that sacred unions may be celebrated with dignity and devotion.
“With the Trust’s support, we were able to conduct our daughter’s wedding with grace and without debt. It was a blessing we will always remember.” — A grateful parent from Tiruvannamalai
By enabling families to honor tradition and begin new journeys with peace of mind, the Trust helps build stronger households and a more compassionate society.
Agriculture is not just a livelihood—it’s a legacy passed through generations. Recognizing the challenges faced by small farmers, Sri Pratyaksha Charitable Trust supports food security and economic stability by distributing essential seeds to those from economically weaker rural communities.
As part of its Rishi Krishi program, the Trust conducted the AGRI SEEDS DHANAM initiative in Ayyuragaram village near Villupuram, marking the fourth successful batch of beneficiaries. These seeds help farmers cultivate nutritious produce, generate local income, and restore confidence in traditional farming practices
“These seeds gave us a reason to sow again—with hope, not hesitation,” — A farmer from Ayyuragaram
Through each batch of distributed seeds, SPCT plants the values of self-reliance, sustainability, and rural dignity.
Temples are more than places of worship—they are living centers of culture, harmony, and divine energy. Behind every ritual and celebration stands the unwavering devotion of the Pujaris (priests), who serve tirelessly to uphold tradition and connect communities to the divine. Through the Deva Puja Welfare Scheme, financial support to deserving Pujaris from rural and underserved regions, recognizing their lifelong dedication to temple service. These priests rise before dawn, perform nitya pujas, observe sacred festivals, and care for the temple’s vastras, abhushanas, and vahanas—often without any stable income.
Currently, over 100 Pujaris from six Indian states—Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Pondicherry—receive monthly grants under this scheme.
“This support reminds us that dharma never forgets those who uphold it,” — A temple priest from rural Kerala
The Trust aims to expand this initiative to support 1,000 priests in the next two years.
SPCT works to uphold India’s rich heritage and preserve the tenets of dharma through a series of activities and programs that cover the spheres of education, incorporating the principles from India’s rich culture, values and culture coupled with new age education, social service, national integration in an inclusive way.
